Stay over, have your conference or that special function in the
Kogelberg International Biosphere!

Our Backpackers inn is situated in the apple orchards of the beautiful Elgin Valley where we offer
country accommodation, conference facilities and catering services in our historic fruit packers hostel.

There are 7 rooms sleeping two and 7 rooms sleeping four (bunk beds).

Rooms with two single beds are decorated in a typical Cape Fynbos theme (Fynbos, indigenous to South Africa and not unlike the heath found in Scotland and other countries abroad) which echoes the beauty of valley. Linen and towels are provided.

Shared bathroom facilities are spacious and newly decorated.

The Elgin Valley offers a holiday package to suit all tastes… mountain biking, canoeing, hiking in a
number of nature reserves, whale watching and blue flag beaches an hour´s drive away, wine tasting, horse riding, kloofing, hang gliding or just relaxing in the peaceful environment surrounded by mountains, streams and valleys.

Guided tours can be arranged to follow the historic Cape of Good Hope post coach route, the
penquin colony and botanical gardens at Bettys Bay or a visit to the famous Elgin Country Gardens,
the apple route, informal migrant worker settlements with interesting names such as Iraq and
Rooidakke and also other special interest tours e.g. apple industry, art meander etc. Airport transfer to and from Cape Town for up to 50 passengers.

Wedding vows under the pine trees with the smell of lavender and roses around you…a garden
venue your guests will remember for years to come!

Our indoor venues have a special historic feel with the original wooden floors and ceilings.
Two venues offer seating for 80 guests and 40 each. It is also possible to link the two venues
to accommodate 120 – 150 guests.

Kogelberg International Biosphere Reserve:

Size for size, this 100 000 hectare UNESCO registered Biosphere Reserve is home to the most complex biodiversity on the planet! This reserve boasts some 1880 different plant species… the next richest is the South American rainforest with just 420 species per 10 000 square kilometres!

We can help you with the menu, catering, decorations and flower arrangements.

Venues

Make your choice between 3 different venues with the following capacity: 80, 30, 20 seats.
Equipment such as white boards, digital projectors, flip charts etc. can be included.
Conference catering is available according to set menus.
